I am looking for a picture that I could use for a book where Ixchel is one of the characters. Yours would be one of my favorites. Would it be possible?
Greetings from Wilko

does "Ixchel" mean something with Mexican/Aztec importance?

Very nice composition. Very eye catching. That background looks like a book cover I saw as a child. I think it was called "wonders of the world" or something like that. But that may just be coincidence.
I like the way you put it together. The composition flows wonderfully.

Well... I supose I haven't seen the right mayan calendar on my trips to various mayan archeological places.

By the way, why did you say in another commet that this is an aztec calendar?

:iconpaledrow:
PaleDrow Featured By Owner May 18, 2007
That is a Mayan calendar according to the book cover it came from. So she is correct. If you think its not Mayan then take it up with the book publisher...maybe they were wrong.

When I first saw this, I'll be honest: I couldn't quite decide what I thought about this. It's probably the brown, on a purely personal level, I do not much go for brown. That aside, the background piece looks great, really striking. It could almost be a tribal head dress that the figure is wearing, which then gives way to a bizarre but effective fusion of time periods (and stories of the character too).

There is nothing at all wrong with this piece, Fi, I suppose it just doesn't speak to me quite like all your other works. I'll still be back for more though, you can guarentee that. ;p
