Announcing the deviantART Creative GrantsAnnouncing the deviantART Creative Grants
At deviantART, we have spent the past 11 years building a place where artists can share and discuss their work and get inspired by the work of their contemporaries. A noble cause, for certain, but we would like to be so much more to our beloved community of brilliant creatives. Starting today, deviantART will also be a means of inspiration in an entirely new way with financial support for art.
On 3 month cycles, deviantART will accept applications from artists seeking to fund art-related projects. A panel called the Creative Grants Board will pick those projects that they believe will benefit particularly from a Grant and give those artists the support they need to make it happen. The lucky few who are chosen to receive Grants will also be given a beautiful accolade on their deviantART Profile Page to celebrate their succes

Seniority Announcement - December 2011This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 800 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.

So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice that stands out above the many others who deviate to be recognised

August 7th, 2011 marks deviantART's 11th birthdAy, but in true devious style, we're taking a whole week to celebrate! Our original plans for Deviants Appreciation Day were so huge that there was no possible way to express our love for the community in a mere 24 hours. Instead, we've created Deviants Appreciation Week, and what better time to host a week's worth of community-oriented events than in the days leading up to our birthdAy?

Things are super busy at the moment. As you know, we've been recruiting for 2 new positions into the CEA Team for a while. After weeks of interviews, tasks and presentations, we've sent out offers to 2 deviants who will soon be joining the team. I have to say that this round of recruitment attracted the most amazingly high standard of applicants, and it was not an easy task to make our final decisions! Over 200 people applied for the positions and it was really inspiring to speak with so many people who have such evident ambition and talent within our community.
During the recruitment process, we gave the final round of applicants a task to make a presentation to us about what they felt was an appropriate piece of community outreach that the CEA should undertake. I was really impressed by all the ideas and I'm really looking forward to expanding upon some of the ideas to make them part of our regular CEA projects.

The Deviousness Award is an accolade which is traditionally handed out on the 1st of every month to one truly outstanding deviant.

^3wyl's impact within our community in only 1 year is nothing short of astounding. Her constistently positive approach and eclectic gallery are testament to her love of art and desire to constantly improve.

But not only that, ^3wyl is well known for participating in projects and events, promoting beatiful artwork and generally providing an all round super deviant attitude to which we should all aspire.
