It was fascinating to see all of the deviantART community's different depictions of their personal apocalypses. The imagination and quality of work that we received for the Darksiders: Your Last Days Contest was extremely impressive. So thank you, our dear deviantART community!

At deviantART, we have spent the past 11 years building a place where artists can share and discuss their work and get inspired by the work of their contemporaries. A noble cause, for certain, but we would like to be so much more to our beloved community of brilliant creatives. Starting today, deviantART will also be a means of inspiration in an entirely new way with financial support for art.
On 3 month cycles, deviantART will accept applications from artists seeking to fund art-related projects. A panel called the Creative Grants Board will pick those projects that they believe will benefit particularly from a Grant and give those artists the support they need to make it happen. How the friggin hell did that masterpiece featuring death get 2nd place and the shitty War get 1st?

Both images are very good, but the one featuring Death doesn't even portray Death as he is in the franchise.

lol When I saw the game in a shop a week ago I was like 'Huh, this seems so familiar...*broods over it*' then I got it and now while browsing for fanart I found this Contest again, can't believe I almost forgot about it
