It's our 9th birthday and what better way to celebrate than by making art with Fella! He had such a great time with the Valentine's Day Coloring Contest that he demanded we do it all over again for birthday celebrations (as well as giving him an extra slice of cake)!
DeviantART is proud to present the Birthday Bonanza Coloring Contest. With help from `betteo, one of our most awesomesauce deviants, we've put together an old school coloring contest where the winner gets to lay claim to some serious birthday swag!
Participating couldn't be easier.
HOW TO PARTY IN DEVIANT STYLE
- Download the template to the right and color it with any combination of solid colors using the paint bucket tool in your favorite image editing software (Photoshop, MS Paint, GIMP, and so on). Remember, the contest is in honor of our 9th birthday celebration, so create something that reflects partying with Fella and deviantART.
- Feel free to rotate the canvas in any direction you'd like to better suit your creativity (90º, 180º, 270º, etc.).
- Use solid colors only. No shading, texturing, or gradients.
- You must only use 1 template in each entry. You cannot join templates together.
BIRTHDAY BONANZA PRIZES
- The contest will have 3 grand prize winners and 3 runners-up.
- Each grand prize winner will receive a super-smashing birthday bonanza goodie pack consisting of a special edition 9th birthday t-shirt, a pack of emoticon stress balls, a pack of emoticon buttons and a 1 year Premium Membership to deviantART. Runners-up will each receive a special edition 9th birthday t-shirt.
Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
- Use of 9th birthday celebration theme, use of color palette, and ability to standout among other entries.
- The judging team includes $sgonzalez, $margotdent, $heidi, $jekor, `betteo + others tbc!
- Judges decisions will be final and based on their respective personal tastes (or complete lack of taste) in applying the criteria.
Contest Rules!
- Birthday Bonanza Coloring Contest is open to ALL deviantART members worldwide (United States residents, non-United States residents, residents of Mars, Cylons, Klingons, T-1000s, super heroes, super villains, mudkips or otherwise).
- Feel free to submit as many entries as you'd like. But remember, you can only use 1 template in each entry.
- Upload your entry as a deviation to: Community Projects > Contests > 2009 > Birthday Bonanza Coloring Contest
- The contest begins on August 4th at 12:01 AM Pacific and ends August 9th at 11:59 PM Pacific.
- There is no charge or fee to become a member of deviantART
