What is BeACritic ?
The simplest explanation is BeACritic strives to feature any artists on dA that are seeking feedback. It's both a feature and a contest. A feature to the deviant seeking feedback and a contest to those giving the feedback.
Not Just for Literature Anymore!
In very recent news, BeACritic has put the wheels in motion to start accepting visual art in addition to the literature we already acept for features. There's no official announcement just yet, but it won't be long!
Some Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
Once a deviant decides that they want to be featured by BeACritic, they send a note to the group with thumbcodes for three of their deviations. We then put them into the schedule in the next available slot. After the blog goes up, deviants have two weeks to read/review the three deviations and leave their feedback. Once the two weeks are up, the contest is closed and the next feature starts. Deviants may enter up to three times per feature.
What are the prizes?
Every feature gives away two prizes. The first is a critique by BeACritic and the second is 50 . The critique winner is selected at random using a a number generator. The points winner is selected by the deviant that is featured.
Why should I follow the group?
Aside from Special Promotions, following the group ensures that you're receiving the most recent blogs as well as the critiqueable submissions in your Message Centre.
What are the Special Promotions?
Special Promotions are the reason you need to be watching BeACritic! Every once and awhile a journal will be posted ONLY through the group blog and will have a very short window of opportunity. During that time, BeACritic will give out additional prizes to deviants that participate in the Special Promotion. These prizes are ON TOP of the regular feature prizes and vary from points to additional critiques to commissions.
